Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Travis Ahlquist
Monday, January 11th, 2010
Classes are on Sundays from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chicago (Lakeview) JCC.
This therapeutic and Iyengar inspired class offers a great base for newcomers, beginners, and advanced students alike. With great focus on movement through breath, postural alignment, and mindbody awareness, each class introduces philosophical and physiological concepts applied through a series of asanas or poses. Students benefit from increased balance, flexibility, coordination and improved posture. By turning attention inward, this practice may also guide students toward energetic balance, internal organ cleansing, injury recovery and ultimately, stillness of the mind in preparation for meditation.
Travis Ahlquist brings his experience as a massage therapist and personal trainer to his guidance as a yoga instructor. Recently, he spent a month on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala for his intensive yoga teacher and thai massage training. In addition to his personal yoga practice, Travis continues to study the martial arts of Capoeira, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Qi Gong.
