Chicago Fire vs Colorado Rapids on Sunday, August 23rd, 2009.
The Chicago Fire will be celebrating Japanese Heritage at 3:30 pm (the game begins at 5:oo pm). The game will be hosted at Toyota Park at 7000 S. Harlem Avenue, Bridgeview, Illinois 60455.

Kosuke Kimura on the Colorado Rapids is the first and only Japanese player in Major League Soccer. This is Kosuke’s 3rd season in the MLS after a very successful college career at Western Illinois. Born in Kanagawa, Japan, Kosuke and the Rapids will battle Chicago’s McBride, Blanco and the rest of the Fire!

As an added bonus, the first 30 tickets purchased for kids 12 years old and younger will participate unaccompanied in the Tunnel of Fire. Each child will receive a free T Shirt and see the players up close by being on the field before the game during the National Anthem and starting line-ups!
Pre-game enjoy FireFest inside Gate B. Entertainment includes Japanese arts demonstrations such as Aikido along with music, food, and interactive games.

The Japanese Culture Center will be performing an Aikido demonstration on Thursday, August 6th at the Dragonfly Restaurant. The address is 832 W. Randolph St. Chicago, IL 60607 (on the corner of Green Street).
The number there is 312-787-7600. I have found parking there before, but there is also a valet service for the restaurant, just in case. That is approx. $8.00
The demonstration will begin at 7:30pm

The Japanese Culture Center will have a demonstration this 6.30 at 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm at the Fun Time Stage is located at the southwest corner of Columbus & Jackson.
