Breathwork has been used for thousands of years to access the profound rest and stillness beyond ordinary states of consciousness. This powerful rhythmic breathing practice softens physical tension, opens the heart and lungs, tones the vagus nerve to reduce stress and anxiety, and assists with processing residual emotions in the body. This workshop includes a brief introduction to breath biology, a gentle guided meditation, and the Ecstatic Breathwork method.
Rachel Elizabeth Maley is an artist and teacher based outside of Chicago. A musician since a young age, she performs on multiple instruments and voice, and is a practitioner of meditation and Cha Dao, the Way of Tea. She is the founder of Still Life Meditation (StillLifeMeditation.net), a center for meditation and self-inquiry in downtown Elgin, IL.
