Ikebana Workshop

May 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

- $60.00

We are excited to announce an afternoon workshop exploring Ikebana Flower Arrangement with the President of the Chicago Chapter of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society!

Saturday, May 18th from  2-4PM

Workshop Fee: $60

All tools and materials are provided.

Registration for this class ends one week prior to the start date, so please register prior to 1/26/2019 to ensure your seat.

Students will learn a brief history of the Ikenobo school of Ikebana, and partake in a freestyle arrangement workshop. If so inclined, students may then register for the upcoming six-week Ikebana course where they can more formally train in this beautiful art form.

Ikebana originated with Ikenobo, beginning in Kyoto, Japan, as a Buddhist floral offering. Passed down through generations of the Ikenobo family and from teacher to student, Ikenobo has spread throughout Japan and around the world. Discovery and enjoyment await as Ikenobo’s principles suggest new possibility in the beauty of floral material in your own country.
