The Japanese Culture Center is happy to announce a new special workshop where participants can learn the art of Orizomegami!
Saturday, January 12th, 1-3PM
Workshop Fee: $60
Absorbent paper is folded and then dyed to produce interesting geometrical patterns when the paper is unfolded as practiced in Japan and around the world for centuries. Zen-like in its folding, the ancient technique reminds us to be present in the moment. This class is open to all levels of experience!
This 3 hour workshop will introduce 4 basic paper folds. We will then experiment with nontoxic dye solutions resulting in beautiful papers that can be used for future art projects such as; gift wrapping, card making, envelope lining, book binding!
All supplies included.
