Join the Japanese Arts Foundation and Culture Center for Tekkonkinkreet at Logan Theatre!

Director Michael Arias’ 2007 visual masterpiece Tekkonkinkreet, also known as Black & White, based on the manga series written and illustrated by Taiyō Matsumoto. This story takes place in the fictional city of Takaramachi (Treasure Town) and centers on a pair of orphaned street kids – the tough, canny, Black, and the childish, innocent, White, together known as the Cats – as they deal with yakuza attempting to take over Takaramachi.
- 9:00pm Tekkonkinkreet Screening: $15
- 8:30pm Pre-screening talk with Derek Larson Assistant Professor of Animation, Purdue University Polytechnic Institute, and Northwestern University Assistant Professor of Game Art Derrick Fields. Both guests will introduce the film, and speak to the animation and technology used to create this stunning film.
