Rachel Lavin has studied martial arts for well over twenty years. She has advanced degrees in a multiple of systems including a 5th Dan in Shotokan Karate awarded to her by the late Nishiyama Sensei. She studied Shotokan Karate under Sugiyama Sensei for twenty-four years. She also has a black belt in Jiujutsu and studied Judo under Tono Sensei. She has competed and won both international and national competitions in both karate and judo. She has a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology and has blended her education and experience to create a system of teaching martial arts and fitness designed to overcome obstacles thereby speeding up the learning process. Also, she also teaches self-defense to women and children. Ms. Lavin also offers private and group instruction.
