
Join us for the first of a series of workshops and learn self-defense basics in a workshop led by martial artists and mental health and social service professionals, in an affirming space for Queer and Trans people.

Instructors:
Maria’h Foster (she/her)is the Program Director at Life is Work serving Black and Trans communities across Chicago and is a blue belt in Mixed Martial Arts.
Anthony Guerrero Short, MPH (they/them) is a person of Trans experience and Latine public health professional and Director of Development at Arcus Behavioral Health and Wellness and has a blue belt in both Aikido and Karate Goju-Ryu.
Jared Day, LCPC (he/they) is a queer mental health professional with oveR 10 years experience and has training in competitive wrestling and a blue belt in Aikido.
Please wear appropriate workout clothing. People who may want to attend but not take the workshop are invited as well.
Proceeds from the event go to support mental health services and social services provided by Arcus Behavioral Health and Wellness and Life Is Work, two LGBTQ+ focused non-profit organizations in Chicago.
